The Story
Hi there, My name is Sean Clement. I have been in and around the remote and semi remote tourism for the majority of my life. My father came to Lochalsh area as a guide and laborer in the 1950's. He was soon running his own lodge not long after that. He was a Jack of all trades, a master in the art of making people feel welcomed at home when they came to the lodge. I have taken His lessons and example, and try and give my guests the same experience. I have traveled a little bit of the world through my 4 years in the US Army, and have worked in construction, forestry, gold mining, oil fields. Working a blue collared life, I wanted to be able to make a place affordable to my fellow blue collar workers, and share these great area . I call home.
THE LODGE
Wabatong lodge has gone by two previous names, Wabatongushi Lodge 1960 to 1992, where it was renamed in 1993 to Open Season sometimes...Sno'd Inn, this name change was to reflect a new year round availability chartering to all types of outdoor enthusiasts, from fishermen to snowmobilers. The lodge was shut down in 2004. The lodge remained closed until 2009, when I decided to get back to my roots and bring back the Lodge. I decided to go with the name Wabatong, a shorten version of Wabatongushi, due to the fact many of us locals, refer to the lake in it's shorten form. The lodge consists of 3 buildings, the large main cabin that houses 3 bedrooms 2 and half baths, and a large kitchen, dining room, living room, and screened in porch. A second smaller cabin a duplex converted from the old Lochalsh General store, that is 2 fully equipped house keeping cabins. The third building is where an additional 2 room, one bath accommodations for 4 are available.
I have been going to Sean's lodge for the past couple of years, and I had such a great time that I will continue to go. The fishing is phenomenal, the scenery breathtaking, and the lodge is awesome. Sean and Tina are truly great hosts, they make you feel so welcome! I highly recommend that you go check it out. Be ready for a great time!

I have been coming to Canada fishing for over 20 years over a lot of Ontario and I have found that Sean’s place wabaton lodge is the best place I have stayed and the fishing is the best anyplace. The atmosphere at wabaton lodge is like walking in to your home away from home always welcoming and warm. Sean is always ready to help with anything to make the stay there the best it can be. The fish selection is awesome from large northern pike and walleye to eaters. It is not uncommon to see bear and moose while fishing on the lake and eagles too. It is truly a northern paradise.

I came up to Wabatong Lodge with some family and friends in 2017. It was my first time in Canada fishing and I will be making a return trip in the future. Sean is gracious host and knew right where to tell us to go to get on the fish. The surrounding area and lake is beautiful. Walleye and Pike were abundant. Thank you Sean Clement for your hospitality and for the memories that will never be forgotten. I can’t wait to bring my children up when they get older.
